Early Childhood
Individualized Education Program

T.O.T.S. (Transitioning Our Children to School) program provides free developmentally appropriate and child-centered education for children ages 3 and 4 with special needs. Lessons are individualized and differentiated based on each student’s needs and Individual Education Program. Services available include screenings, multi-disciplinary assessments, early childhood education and related services, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Our staff includes certified special education teachers, licensed therapists and paraprofessionals. 

 

Who is Eligible?

  • Applicants must be 3 years of age

  • Referred by Child Development Watch, parent referral, or pediatrician

  • Has a disability; and needs special education and related services because of the disability determined by a formal assessment of the child’s development.

 

 Documentation Needed

  • For verification of age - Child’s birth certificate

  • Proof of residency- Utility Bill

  • Student registration 

  • Immunizations and physical

Howard T. Ennis Educational Services are provided to all students (preschool through 21 years old) with developmental delays within the Indian River School District and sending districts that demonstrate a need for highly specialized educational support. Special education services are provided by trained and experienced teachers, therapists, nurses and paraeducators under the leadership of a coordinating team of administrators.
